1.5 Million Trainees in Electrical and Electronics Internship at Private Company to Gain Practical Skills

Kampot, 06 May, 2024: The Techo Sen Kampot Polytechnic Institute has initiated a groundbreaking endeavor, dispatching 1.5 million young individuals to delve into the intricacies of its technical and vocational training program, with an aim to undergo practical training at a private enterprise. These youths are fervently dedicated to their internships, harboring hopes of securing permanent positions within the company upon the culmination of their three-week internship period.

Participants, having diligently honed their professional and technical skills under the auspices of the Royal Government's 7th mandate over the course of nearly four months, now find themselves at the pinnacle of their educational journey, as they embark on this final stage of practical application at esteemed private entities.

Kem Pich, a trainee from the Department of Electrical and Electronics at the Techo Sen Kampot Polytechnic Institute, expressed his enthusiasm about his upcoming internship at the Kampuchea Chakrei Ting electricity company. He articulated, "The prospect of securing a full-time role with the company post-internship is incredibly motivating, and I am committed to making the most of this invaluable opportunity."

Likewise, Pheung Samnang, another trainee from the same department, echoed similar sentiments, stating, "I am thrilled to embark on this internship journey at Pu Chen, an esteemed electrical and construction company, where I will be remunerated over $200 per month." The significance of this internship extends beyond mere training; it represents the culmination of their technical education, with the hopeful prospect of transitioning into permanent employment roles.

Gratitude was also extended to the Royal Government of Cambodia for spearheading this vocational and technical training initiative, which has not only equipped young individuals with essential skills but has also opened doors to gainful employment opportunities.

It is worth noting that since the inception of the vocational and technical training program for 1.5 million youths from impoverished and vulnerable backgrounds, initiated by Prime Minister Hun Manet on November 14, 2023, and commencing its first term on January 15, 2024, trainees nationwide have been fervently pursuing their chosen fields of expertise. For some, this journey culminates in internships at esteemed private enterprises, bolstering their capabilities and positioning them for lucrative employment prospects post-internship.
